If dave was not talking to Cliffs about the potential purchase of Black creek then he would be able to tell anyone who asks him that question.

So if you ask Dave " Whats up with Black creek and Cliffs ? " you get "I can't comment on that right now."

I bet if you asked him... "Have you been aproached buy BHP to buy Black creek" he would likely be willing / likely to say " No"

Doesn't mean there is a deal coming soon..... Just means that a deal is not off the table and that there is not a definative yes or no.
