Should possible confiscation in the future be part of our thinking?

Will they take our gold? The US Patriot Act clearly defines for some reason gold bullion as being the price of gold times two and under. So, any coin or bar item that is held under that limit would be considered gold bullion. Why even define under any law what gold bullion is? Gold coins with a premium of over 100% to the price of gold might be deemed collector coins and be left alone if confiscation of US citizen's gold does take place.

Since two major US banks got involved with the naked selling of large amounts of gold fututes contracts short on the Comex in July and August, all related precious metal shares got blistered. Who expected such a fast drop on the gold price from $930 to under $700? No one I know. It would seem appropriate to some degree of paranoia to be on the lookout for the unexpected as we enter the hyperinflationary period ahead.

As far as Canadian citizens are concerned and considering their regulators did NOTHING like the US regulators did in regards to the abusive naked short selling of pm shares, I suspect as well, they too, might confiscate gold if it ever comes to that.

The most interesting facet of Probe is our 5% royalty with Agnico Eagle. Even though it is a gold royalty, payment would be in currency, not gold. So, it would be almost about the same as holding gold. Would governments ever be so daring to nationalize their gold producing companies? One only has to remember that during the Roman Empire the state owned all the gold producing placers. The important thing here to remember is we are speaking of a royalty and not ownership. Royalties are legal contracts. Considering the best performing gold related stock anywhere in the world is Royal Gold(RGLD-OTC), one would have to wonder, is someone or some group of people already accumulating RGLD in anticipation of this possible event, as their assets, aside from cash, are all in royalties?

I'm considering tonight dumping my bullion and buying more into our royalty and or possibly, buying some Royal Gold.
