Northern Shield Resources mentioned the presence of cobalt in soil sample surveys.

2 press releases:

September 29, 2004 regarding their Highbank Lake Property:

...The Highbank Lake Property is being explored for reef-hosted platinum-palladium mineralization. Northern Shield confirmed the discovery of an unknown layered intrusion earlier this season that covers an approximate area of 450-500 sq km. Layered intrusion are highly sought after for their potential to contain Pt-Pd mineralization hosted in layers or “reefs” within the intrusion. These reefs are typically thin but extensive. Since there is very little rock exposed within the project area, soil sample surveys are being used to delineate zones of Pt-Pd enrichment in the underlying bedrock. The most significant Pt-Pd anomaly (HB1 Zone) can be traced for 22 kilometers and is the focus of the geophysical survey and subsequent drill program. The other targets will include the Lower Zone, which is believed to parallel the HB1 Zone and, the Contact Zone where very high nickel and cobalt concentrations were identified in soil samples along with elevated Pt and Pd....

April 29, 2008 regarding their Eastbank Project:

...The samples returned various minerals and rock fragments that may be indicative of the presence of a layered mafic/ultramafic intrusion at Eastbank. These include chromite, chrome-bearing clinopyroxene, orthopyroxene, chrome-bearing andradite, olivine, nickel-cobalt bearing loellingite and fragments of gabbro. Olivine and nickel-cobalt loellengite are easily weathered and disintegrate quickly and hence their presence in the till sample suggests proximity to source...

These 2 projects are indicated on my map quite a few miles south west of the PRB claims. Noront holds a 15 claimblocks in the Highbank Lake Property. Just another indication of the vast mineral richness of the region.
