Allways people try to read between the lines but it reminds me of this old detective show I used to watch called Banecek.

Banecek is at the crime sceen with other cops looking at a chewed up cigar trying to put it in perspective with the crime , and then Banecek says "sometimes a chewed up cigar is just a chewed up cigar"

I think Probe is just quelling a nasty rumor as another chapter is being written.So it will take a minor property title search as you would similar to buying a house.
