HI Freeman,
I don't know if Old Joe will answer or not, but I know something about Probe's management. I have followed the company for over 4 years and have regular discussions with Dave Palmer and Harry Hodge.
Firstly the management team is first rate and comprised of very well respected members of the industry. They are very conservative and will not make announcements until every "i" is dotted and "t" crossed; nor will they make highly promotorish statements - they are intent on not misleading the public and really do seem to have
Patrick Reid, Chairman of the Board, DIrectortheir shareholders' best interests at heart.
Mr. Patrick Reid, former Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for the riding of Rainy River, Ontario and past-President of the Ontario Mining Association (OMA), brings more than twenty years experience as a senior executive in the mining industry to the Company.
As former Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Rainy River, Ontario (1967-1984), Patrick held various senior positions within government and opposition, including Chairman, Public Accounts Committee, Finance and Revenue Critic for the Official Opposition, Member of the Select Committee on Guidelines for the Ombudsman and Advisor - Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation.
Patrick retired from the OMA in 2004, after more than twenty years of service to the association, first as Executive Director (1984-1987) and subsequently as President and CEO (1987-2004). During his time with the OMA, Patrick worked to enhance the profile of the mining industry with the provincial government and promote the industry, most notably through the establishment of "Ontario Mining Week", which continues to raise public awareness of the contribution of mining to the economy and the daily lives of all Ontarians.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba and is a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. In 2001, he was awarded the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) fellowship for his outstanding contribution to the Canadian Mining Industry and the CIM. Patrick currently sits of the board of several junior resource companies.
Dr. Dave Palmer, President and CEO
Prior to joining Probe in 2003, Dr. David Palmer spent fifteen years as an Exploration Geologist and Consultant to the Canadian and international mining industry. He has managed projects and conducted research for major international mining companies in South America, South Africa, India, Greenland and Scandinavia, as well as working extensively throughout Canada. His work has covered a broad range of mineral commodities, including gold, base metals, diamonds, platinum group metals, and copper/nickel deposits.
David holds a B.Sc. (Geology) degree from St. Francis Xavier University, M.Sc. and Ph.D. (Economic Geology) degrees from McGill University, and is a member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario. He has published scientific papers in journals such as Economic Geology and Chemical Geology.
David Palmer, Ph.D., P.Geo. is the Company's Qualified Person as defined under national instrument 43-101.
Harry Hodge, Director
Mr. Harry Hodge has over 40 years experience in the Canadian mining and exploration industry and has held several senior positions, including Senior Mine Geologist, Eastern Canada for Noranda Mines Ltd., Chief Geologist for Conwest Exploration Co. and Manager, Minerals Division, Eastern Canada for Shell Canada Resources. Harry is the past-President of Probe and remains an integral part of the Company, providing technical experience, as well as constantly reviewing new business opportunities.
Harry holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from St. Francis Xavier University and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. Harry is the President of Geocanex Ltd. and currently sits of the board of several junior resource companies. Until recently this included SPIDER RESOURCES - HE KNOWS THESE PLAYERS INTIMATELY!!!!
A very recent example of this is the oversubscriber PP. They really believe that the share price will be much higher and decided to do a smaller financing for McFaulds rather that grabbing 10 - 15 million (which they could have done) at this level and risk dilution. If the action in McFauld's Lake continues I bet that they will be able to do a financing in the new year for well over $5. That being said, it is still very early days in proving up anhything in the area. You can bet if they get drilling results anywhere close to NOT's with just 23 million shares outstanding, their share price will be a minimum of $5 - $10 early next year.
I think there will be a number of announcements coming up - but things have to be done properly - how would you like it if they had to rescind a press release - they would look like idiots!! Look at NOront, for all of the great stuff they put out, I believe that they had to put out a separate release clarifying drill locations because they announced incorrect data. If I am mistaken in this I apologize.
