Multi-Billion Dollar Agreement Signed With Oman
Anyone remotely interested in Omagine, please take the time to read or re-read lebnijb's post of 11/03/201---"The Oman Investment Conference"----. In reading this for the THIRD time myself, I find I'm looking for my roll of duct tape to wrap around my head to keep it from exploding.( I stole that from Glenn Beck). Certain phrases/points that enamored me the most, I've extrapolated from this article. They are:THE TOURISM SECTOR IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE ECONOMY AS THE COUNTRY SEEKS TO RAISE THE CONTRIBUTION OF THIS SECTOR TO THE GDP ; THE SULTINATE (for you new comers this simply means the nation/country of Oman) HAS AN IDEAL ATMOSPHERE FOR TOURISM ENVIRONMENT;HIGHLIGHT THE IMPORTANCE OF THE TOURISM SECTOR; PROMOTING INVESTMENT IN THE (tourism) SECTOR; PAVE THE WAY FOR TOURISM COMPANIES TO INVEST IN THE (country) SULTINATE;REVIEWING THE OMANI EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD OF TOURISM.----------My burning question is "WHAT THE H_LL HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR LAST 7 YEARS. Isn't this exactly what the MOT (for you new comers---The Minister/Ministry of Tourism) was supposed to be doing? I realize there was significant turn over in that particular arm of the government (including the untimely death of one of the ministers) but 7 years??? Please don't take this the wrong way from one of the projects greatest rooters---BUT 7 years? You "gotta be kiddin" me.Certainly I'm glad that this conferecce is coming to fruition in December---BUT 7 YEARS?----Regards, BILL---usually positive---BILL.
