MUSCAT The Ministry of Tourism is showcasing its new official website www.mot.gov.om and their exclusive tourism portal www.omantourism.gov.om at Comex 2009 in the eOman pavilion. Fakhriya Al Zadjali, Head of eTourism section, said the official portal presents information about the main role of the ministry, its organisation structure, the various divisions and their projects. The regular sections like news, announcements, tenders and contact page are included. The OmanTourism portal, showcased at the 2nd Government eServices Exhibition of Comex2009, is an important channel of promotion targeting visitors from abroad. It provides useful information about Oman such as geographic information, visa procedures, weather data, accommodation, dress-code, speciality of Omani regions, events and activities taking place in Oman. Each region of Oman is uniquely blessed with its own places of interest for visitors including flora and fauna to blend into culture. These details are also available in this portal in a structured manner. The media centre of this website has electronic maps for different regions as well as special maps to places of attractions. A recent addition to the portal is the multimedia contents such as panoramic tours, audio guides, video clips and images. In simple terms, this portal is ‘a must visit’ for every tourist, be it local or foreign, to know Oman and plan their visit from anywhere, anytime at a click of their mouse. |
