Campamento is an area of intense historical mining on the La Jojoba property. The area of Campamento is located one kilometer south of the Northeast Zone, and about five kilometers west of the Lluvia de Oro mine. The Campamento area has been mined and prospected since before 1900 by underground, hand-mining techniques for gold and copper. Past mining was shallow in nature and limited to favorable zones near the surface. As a result of this early activity, there are dozens of open workings and perhaps a hundred or more pits and surface workings that suggests that the area has significant indications of mineralization.

Figures 1 & 2: Photos of two of the more than one dozen adits used by previous miners to access the gold-copper mineralization at the Campamento Zone on the La Jojoba property. A new campaign for exploration will commence in the area of Campamento at the La Jojoba property by the end of January, with drilling there to commence about mid-January.

MCM/NWM conducted conventional soil geochemistry and enzyme leach geochemical surveys over the Campamento area in 2006 and 2008. The results of these surveys indicate that multi-element metal anomalies occur over an area greater than 900 m wide (E-W) by +1,100 m long (N-S). The area of favorable soil response includes an area more than twice the size of the Northeast Zone at La Jojoba, thus it constitutes an important exploration target. The area of soil geochemical anomalies is shown in the figure below.

MCM is conducting surface studies in the Campamento area now, and drilling along existing roads and trails with the air-track drill. We have completed about 100 air-track drill holes so far.

The core drill has been working in the area of the Lluvia-Dos leach pad for the last several weeks. The drill was working on condemnation drilling, and exploration of the ridge between Lluvia-Dos and the El Cobre area. The core rig will be moved to Campamento when it completes its current assignment in that area.
