"A partner would certainly do wonders for the share price, no?"

Yes.  But note that majors move slowly.  I'm guessing it is more likely another junior may be interested in taking down a piece of LBSR to advance drilling to the point that a major would come aboard for part or all of the project.  But anything can happen.

What to remember about majors is that the BOD and officers get paid regularly, and their added rewards for advancing one or more major discoveries are dwarfed compared to everything else such companies do.  Besides, over recent decades, majors have largely rejected exploration activity in favor of buying other producers.  That has to end eventually, but it may still be years away.

By contrast, juniors are generally more interested in adding risk by taking on exploration projects in whole or in part.  However, exceptional properties create exceptional opportunities for majors.

Again, this is what Diamond Fields Resources did in selling ten percent of their project to advance drilling to the point that Inco (Now Vale Canada) took out the nickel project for 4.5 billion.

I recall during that time stories of exploration geologists in Canada and the US mortgaging their homes to buy shares in DFR.  I have not seen or heard of anything like that since.  However, Copper Queen-type grades of Cu-Au-Mo could bring that about here.
