In related matters and in looking at the first week of trading in the New Year,
DJI closed down on the week;
DJT closed down on the week;
Nasdaq closed down on the week;
S&P closed down on the week;
Russell 2000 closed down on the week.
By traditional thought, this means 2024 will not be good for the broader markets. It also suggests a better market for counter-cyclical stocks such as miners, healthcare, utilities, etc.
