Someone elsewhere estimated about 250 feet, and I think that's about right, for the photo. I think the general approach is to poke a series of shallow holes before selecting targets for deeper. Another poster here may have missed this portion of the recent Company Missive, I know I did:

"Specific targets have been selected to explore for near surface and deep-seated ore bodies, of which there are numerous analogs nearby."
