HudBay to begin land clearing for FIVE PROPOSED OPEN PIT MINES associated with the Rosemont project. As a reminder, the initial Rosemont discovery was estimated to be capable of supplying 20 percent of the US's copper needs (without consideration of related by-product metals). Further discoveries adjacent to the initial discovery have made this area one of the most important new economic mineral clusters this century. However, it still faces anti-mining resistance from nearby Tuscon, a.k.a. "Little Berkeley."
Lithography at Rosemont is similar to what is known for the area around Tombstone and Hay Mountain.
