Scratch that.  I forgot that we no longer have a free market.  News that may be good for gold is terrible for those who need to hold it down and have the power to do so (at least until fundamentals overwhelm them, or they are positioned to profit on it).

What I am saying is, the Fed is a private business; it is not a public agency answerable to anyone.
