Message: Area Play?

Yes, Cochise County may be in the early stages of being a re-emerging area play.  This is just my opinion for now.  The evidence is in new explorers moving into the area.  And the fact of the first gold pour by Excelsior, with the appearance of a successful Phase I drilling program by Aztec.

Speaking of Aztec, many retail investors are likely to put a lot of weight on this statement from their last PR:

"The shallow oxide gold-silver mineralization encountered in Aztec’s Phase 1 drill results along the Contention pit include some of the highest-grade gold and silver intervals found to-date at Tombstone."

I am not sure if that means drilling "intervals" apart from historical underground workings intervals, or not.  But it makes for a pretty dramatic statement.  It will draw a lot of eyes over time when coupled with a place name like Tombstone.  Watch it as this news gets around and the share price becomes erratic.

Again, I am referring to retail investors (and those who feed on them) - the shareholders in junior mining/exploration phase companies, not major producers.  That's a different market.  Majors buy or invest in other producers almost exclusively.

By the way, with modern recovery techniques even the Copper Queen pit at Bisbee, closed in '75, becomes economic again.  I am sure we will hear news from there soon.

In any event, markets thrive on substantive news.  The reports from Excelsior and Aztec are the types that area plays are built upon in formerly abandoned districts like this.  I am not going to bet on either one of them or use this news to buy more LBSR.  I think there are better options elsewhere.  However, I thought some here would appreciate reading about the improving environment for Cochise Country mining speculators.

On a concluding note, I have to add that I may be completely wrong.  We are, after all, within the second leg of a global supercycle for metals IF WE DO NOT HAVE A RECESSION FIRST.  Now, let's see if the new US presidential administration helps or hurts mining here.  Theirs is a "green?" victory after all.

Good luck.

VP
