Yes, the price of copper is up strongly today but I don't see $3.50 just yet. You are probably looking at futures prices. If so, mining deals like off-take agreements are based on historical spot prices, not futures. That means that stock prices are more directly influenced by the spot market than the futures market (which happens to be more subject to "influencer?" than the spot market).
