Yes, long ago I had access to maps of large oil deposits in Mexico that had associated parallel features in NW SE trends extending in Texas, New Mexico, and SE Arizona.  Those occurrences in Texas and New Mexico are being exploited.

To my knowledge, no modern-day exploration has been done in Arizona.  Such would be interesting to see in light of what "fracking" has brought to the industry.
