Ten million dollars is nothing for a Carlin-style deposit, the tip of the monster. As I posted yesterday, these are among the largest gold deposits on earth. As far as I know, they do not occur in such small volume as to be attractive to only artisinal miners. Besides, and from the what I know of JB's career, ten million dollars would not attract his attention, unless it is a guidepost to something very much larger.
Again, we appear to have what may soon be proven to be a Bisbee-style copper porphyry desposit adjacent to a sediment hosted Carlin-stype deposit. This suggests that as big as we suspect Hay Mountain's original claims may be as a copper-gold-moly deposit, the new claims may be just a rich in sediment hosted gold (and easier to mine).
Subject to drilling, think Bisbee plus Carlin as models.
