Yes, but I don't think that so likely. In the past financier selling has not displayed such a large bock of available shares, at least in so far as I can remember. And in my experience from watching financier selling over the years with other issues, such sellers will most often use multiple brokerage accounts to off load their holdings. This happens in an attempt to obfuscate who is selling and for what reason - it doesn't so much push prices lower. Here is why I speculated the seller in this instance is not too knowlegable about these markets.
While they may make money on sales anyway (the financiers), wouldn't they want to maximize what they can get? Selling againts themselves by displaying how much they wish to unload only pushes the price lower than if their selling were better managed, as we are seeing.
