Yes, the perfect analogy - "You didn't build that."

Seems as if the emerging nations of Africa have become a bit too eager for economic improvement and are going the way of Venezuela.  The only reason backward countries continue to chose failed paths to wealth is that those in charge get very rich along the way, albeit at the cost of eveyone else. 

...and we were headed that way ourselves quite recently, I do believe.
