In most such cases, no one is paying commission on such trades. These are often brokers closing out oders they could not completely fill in an earlier attempt. In other words, as you watch your ticker, not all those trades are ones for which commissions are being paid. They can be just parts of orders, as is probably the case with the 250 shares you question.
