IMO, these that seem to us as non-news news releases serve two purposes.

1) They let us know that we can not expect drilling to begin in the next few-to-several days, and...

2) they provide a further opportunity to get exposure for the Hay Mountain story.

As "the man" said, any publicity is better than no publicity. Just ask Trump.
