No one in the mining industry pays any attention to futures prices, unless they are negotiating an offtake agreement during an extended period of rising prices.

That aside, "spot" prices for copper and other metals spiked for a very short period this morning, but fell thereafter. Spot copper at the moment is up about a penny.
