Wes, this is not bad news for the sector, in my opinion. Note the offers were "unsolicited", appearing in my opinion, because Glencore may be having structural problems, or wants the market to think that.

Below is a chart showing world estimated resources of various commodities. Antimony, lead, zinc and silver are the most critical, and in that order. Indium, gold and copper are further down the list. [... and from it's beginnings, zinc has been the focus of Glencore.]

I see from this news that the possible sales by Glencore do not involve what are primarily zinc mines. Meanwhile, metals prices appear to remain on an upward trajectory, as recently shared information predicted here.
