Thank you. I wonder how I missed seeing this?
Anyway, it supports something I often pointed out in the past. There is no need for a reverse stock split. This may provide some small comfort to those who feared this.
Many months ago, I offered that addititional shares would have to be aurthorized soon, but the share price was higher then, and I certainly did not expect that we would be looking at 5 billion, not even close. At that time, I had thought that between NPSP & HMSP some deal would have been done before such a vote as this would be needed. However, with no deal looking to be coming soon, and with the much lower price at this time, the situation demands a much higher share authorization than I was expecting last summer.
With luck, we will see developments that will slow the release of new shares such that we will never again be asked to do this. Again, with luck and much higher share prices, this also means the company may have access to the funds it will need to enter a drilling program(s) of it's own at some point (following a partnership or two on other property).
My point is, for the company to have funds for a future project 100 percent owned by LBSR, additional share authorization would be needed anyway, so there is really no surprise here.
Yes, I used the word "luck" a number of times above. That's because buying/holding exploration-phase mining stocks is more aking to gambling than it is to investing - you have to be emotionally and financially prepared to lose it all.
