CORRECTION:

"Miners are valued on past production, and anticipated future prodution based on spot prices."

More correctly, that should be, ..."Miners are valued on past production, and DISCOUNTED FUTURE CASH FLOWS based on spot prices."

Futures prices are wild enough without trying to encorporate them into business models.
