VP, you are not the only person recently whom I have heard discussing the possible end to the current financial system. While I can't argue with your facts or conclusions, I confess that I am a little unsure of what that means, and what you think might replace it. Would all of our dollars become worthless paper and have to start over, or would they be turned in for some new currency, perhaps backed by gold as it used to be? Any thoughts you have on this are welcome.

Again, today gold is out performing platinum - 1274 to 1264 at the moment. In thinking about this, and in noting that gold is "hard money" as compared to platinum, which is more an industrial metal, I think I am seeing that the world is expressing very deep concerns about the future of "soft", or fiat money.

If this is so, and the markets continue to behave this way, I believe the bell is tolling for financial financial system as we know it.
