The following linked story is about things mining entrepenuer Robert Friedland had to say at a recent conterence in Africa. Clearly he was there to give publicity his own projects on that continent, but his general comments about metals are of interest to all in the mining sector.
I've heard him speak a number of times, and he is certainly among the most exciting promoters in the business. I was also in a couple of his ventures in the 90's, but haven't liked the country risk of his projects since.
Anyway, here's part of the story for those who don't want to read the whole thing...
"Friedland is highly optimistic on the medium term copper price looking for a huge increase in consumption as a bactericide, predicting $10,000/tonne copper in the next few years replacing stainless steel (bugs love stainless steel he says) on surfaces."
Imagine the values coming out of HMSP in a few years with copper at 10,000 dollars per tonne.
