Message: POU (Price of Uranium)

POU moved higher this week by one dollar per pound to 31 dollars. This is a total move to the upside of 2.25 per pound over the last two auctions, and follows an extened and historical period of essentially flat prices. Again, this signals an end to a very long and painful fall from the most recent high of about 72 dollars some 3.5 years ago.

Let me offer here for those who don't know, the uranium market is not "price sensitive" as are other commodities. That's because the price uranium is negligable compared to the cost of building and running a nuclear power plant. Buyers will pay whatever they have to to fuel their plants. The upside potential is astounding. At some point, I feel, the old high of 138 dollars (June 2007) will be small change by comparison.

As I recall someone saying some years ago, "It looks like the worm has turned", at least in so far as uranium prices are concerned. Meanwhile, other metals prices are stuggling.
