Rediculous! Just more evidence of the anti-mining and anti-business mentality which prevails today. Despite the headline, I doubt that work will be stopping on the mine. They've been working on it for years - hudreds of millions already invested.

Besides, there was once mining in the immediate area, and much of the proposed work is to be underground anyway. This is a non-story as far as I am concerned.

Also, the copper deposit is so massive, the largest on earth, that the initial ramping could be moved. While that may be costly initially, it could be recovered later.

If you want to check maps, I hear that the ore runs from under Superior, around Hayden, and pehaps well south of there. This is all part of the same trend that feeds into Tombstone, Bisbee and on into Mexico.
