DevPts, I totally concur that it depends entirely upon perspective, however to say that "Gold, however, is not a 'storage' of wealth" is I believe, far off the mark. I am storing a meaningful part of my wealth in a stack of gold located on an island. I am very confident when I retreave it, it will hold not only what I put in it, but a substantial profit as well. I certainly wouldn't want to put that "meaningful part of my wealth" in US$ an store it for several years because I'm certain that it would be worth less than before since I know Penocchio Ben would be running his electronic printing press, thereby devaluing my"wealth". Proof of this is when they opened Kings Tut's tomb the gold in there was worth a fortune because it held it's value as a "storage of wealth" for three thousand years. If that isn't a "storage of wealth", I don't know what is.

Kind regards,

skys
