I've been a shareholder in a few other companies that did this - but just speculation. Investor X says they will finance the deal, but wants equity in the form of partial ownership and stock. Magically the stock walks down to base levels - a few days of strong volume - then a few days later a report comes out that financing is complete.
LGDI may well have a number of suitors, but they are also negotiating with the big boys and don't have a ton of leverage. If there isn't a strong bidding war, they may have to go this route. One way or the other, they have to raise the cash or they are dead in the water.
Even if this is the case, the SP should pop upon any news of a partnership and climb long term.
Hopefully news is around the corner.
