TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 2, 2009) - PDX Resources Inc. (TSX:PLG) ("PDX") has been advised by Detour Gold Corporation ("Detour Gold") that it has announced the appointment of key personnel joining the mine development team for the Detour Lake gold project in northeastern Ontario. PDX has a 42.3% equity interest in Detour Gold (19 million shares). Detour Gold issued a press release today, the verbatim text of which follows: "Detour Gold Adds to its Mine Development Team at Detour Lake Detour Gold Corporation (TSX:DGC) ("Detour Gold" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of key personnel joining the mine development team for the Detour Lake gold project in northeastern Ontario. Director of Technical Services - Paul Chawrun (P.Eng.): Paul is a mining engineer with over 20 years experience in progressive leadership responsibility in large-scale mine operations with Suncor Energy, Fording Coal Limited and Dynatec Corporation. Most recently, he was Vice President Project Economics and Acquisitions at Strategic Resource Acquisition Corporation. Paul's experience includes engineering management, capital budgeting, mine design, large scale earthwork engineering and government regulatory approvals; including expert project valuations and business frameworks. Paul also has a degree in Geology and a Masters in Business Administration. In the near-term, Paul will manage the feasibility study up to its completion and oversee all technical services. Manager Mining - Denis Caron (Eng.): Denis is a mining engineer with over 25 years of progressive experience in mining operations. Prior to joining Detour Gold, Denis was responsible for the rehabilitation of the Selbaie base metal mining operation in northwestern Quebec for BHP Billiton. Prior to its closure in 2004, Denis was the Manager Mines Division at the open pit and underground mine responsible for the production and maintenance departments, and as well as the technical services. Denis will be responsible for the site infrastructure, establishing a health and safety program, and overseeing the mine design, mine equipment selection and closure plan for the successful completion of the feasibility study. Manager Environment - Patrick Rummel (P.Geo.): Patrick is a geoscientist with 13 years of experience in the mining industry, more specifically in the environmental sector. For the majority of his professional career, he worked with consulting engineering firms on feasibility studies, permitting and approvals, and environmental assessments. During his career, he also managed the expansion of the dewatering system at the Fort Knox open pit gold mine in Alaska for Kinross Gold USA Inc. Patrick is overseeing the Environmental Impact Assessment study and leading the permitting process of the Detour Lake project. In addition, the Company has retained the following experienced consultants to assist in the completion of the feasibility study and direct the design as it relates to their discipline: Robert Crepeau (P.Eng.) is a mineral resource specialist with over 30 years of experience in underground and open pit operations. Robert's experience include four years at Aurizon's Casa Berardi Mine where he progressed to Assistant Mine Manager; 10 years at Cambior Inc. responsible for mineral resources/reserves, including four years at the Omai open pit mine; and nine years at Lac Minerals' Bousquet Mine as Chief Geologist. For Detour Gold, Robert will oversee the modeling and mineral resource estimation process for the Detour Lake project. Peter Kresin (P.Eng.) is a metallurgist with over 30 years of experience, principally with management of gold milling operations, mill design and expansion, and test programs. Peter worked at the Detour Lake mine as Mill Superintendent during the first four years of operation. Peter, through Melis Engineering Limited, supervised all metallurgical testwork for the Detour Lake project. Stuart McTavish (P.Eng.) is a metallurgist with over 35 years of experience in mineral processing, including 10 years with SNC Lavalin as Manager of Metallurgy. Stuart is supervising all aspects of the process design and assisting Detour Gold's management in the equipment selection for the process plant for the Detour Lake project.
