But for the widespread precious metal sell-off this afternoon, we likely would have closed the day up 10%-12% (a five or six cent gain). This would have been in line with expectations for today's good but limited news: good because all five reporting holes hit new mineralization and expanded the resource in all directions and at depth; limited because this NR reports on only 3.3% of the 152 holes drilled to date, according to Jon at BMR. Thus, a whopping 147 assay results will be issued in the short-term going forward, so we can expect a steady stream of news releases during these last weeks of 2010. We need to remind ourselves that eye-popping grades, while welcomed, are not essential to a successful Osisko-style bulk-tonnage open-pit mine. We are on course, big time.
