I don't understand the negative comments from anyone.

The weather people did exactly what they should have done. They alerted the coastal areas of the possible damage form the storm. It was a cat 3 and all were lucky thet athe hurricane was downgraded to a 2, then a 1, then to a tropical storm.

I'm with the weather professionals and the media for what they did. After all, it killed 40 people, left millions without power, and did perhaps 6 billion dollars in damage.

Count your blessings that the manjor part of the storm didn't hit those that have made such absurb comments.

I know from experience, I went through Alicia, Allison, Rita, and Ike and was without power from 4 days to two weeks, lost a great amount of food from two freezers, had a pile of debris from my trees that measured 20'L x 8'W x 7'H from a single hurricane. In the general area we had a few thousand homes flooded, water as high as 8-10 feet from more than 20" of rain over a day and winds of 80+ MPH lasting several hours.

From Ike, many homes in some of the areas were lifted from their foundations and torn apart, the whole area was void of homes except for a single home that somehow was left standing.

If you had experienced a cat 2 or 3, maybe some of the comments would have been different.

I'm totally shocked at the comments made by the east cost citizens that didn't have much damage and wondered why they had to evacuate.

The people in charge did the righ thing.
