Is this discussion about which of the Presidents to blame for the curret debt or shouldn't we also put into the equation who controlled the Senate and Congress under each President.

In the case of Bush, the last two years of Congress were in control by the Democrats.

Then one may have to consider the veto, etc.

It boils down to the fact that the government is twice as large as it should be and many of the nations expenditures controlled by the government should be reduced or given back to the states.

I'm all for a balanced budget for the states as well as the government. While at it, change the tax laws, tax revenue for Corporations and income for individuals, eliminate the exclusions and deductions. All of the expenditures that companies and individuals choose are only done at their discretion.
