Speaking of the kings of the drums, I watch the two giants, Krupa nd Rich do a battle at the Shrine Aud in LA a long time ago.
They hit the skins for about 20 to 30 minutes, it was quite a seen and the crowd went wild.
There are very few jazz musicians that I haven't seen in sesson, at least those from the era of the 40s through the early 70s.
Others included Crosby, Andrew susters and some others that I met back in the late 40s. Used to go to some of the radio shows, back stage because of my cousin who knew many of the Hollywood group.
A fun period in my young life.
