To help fight the Waxman-Markey global warming energy tax, the American Energy Alliance recently rolled out a truth campaign to educate the American people on the consequences of this harmful legislation. Last week, we hit the radio airwaves with an ad centered on the costs of the Waxman-Markey energy tax in congressional districts across the county.

It did not take long for the proponents of high energy prices to respond.

Former Vice President Al Gore’s $300 million Alliance for Climate Protection responded to our ads by spending nearly $700,000 to air a TV commercial in the same media markets we targeted last week. Now Gore’s group is targeting us directly in the media.

We must stand up to Gore’s misinformation and intimidation campaign. Former Vice President Gore and President Obama are pushing Congress to focus on job-killing energy taxes instead of promoting jobs through affordable energy prices. The Obama-supported Waxman-Markey bill will cost American families thousands of dollars and harm an already ailing economy, while sending jobs overseas.

This energy tax must be stopped. Tell your Representative to vote against the Waxman-Markey energy tax.
