I find it very disconcerting that it took two days of requesting permission before the POTUS gave the authorization to proceed with this rescue. That authority should not have even had to be requested. If I were POTUS there would be a standing authorization to rescue any hostage(s) without regard to personal harm or damage to property of armed adversaries (pirates/thugs). I guarantee a few more like this one and the level of piracy will go down rather than up as it has been doing. Just a Marine's perspective...
