My understanding is, which could have changed, is that a psychologist with a post-graduate to do clinicals may be deemed a doctor of behavior medicine; and they can not prescribe medicine; but that it takes more schooling, a doctorate, to become a psychiatrist to be able to prescribe meds.
However today a physicians assistant can do it, a PA, under guidance of a practicing physician. who knows... it may have changed
I had too many sleepless nights up solving/comtemplating other peoples problems, when i had enough of my own, and the progress-notes,,, grrrrrrrrr; that's what got me into voice-recognition and researching VR stocks... GMGC,LHSP,IBM,EDIG,SCANSOFT,NUAN,FONX ect ect.
But I also had a medical microfilm business i kept untill 2002,,,
now I primarly research/trade stocks.
