Jury Awards $157M In Defective Tree Stand Case

Law360, New York (February 20, 2009) -- An Indiana state court jury has awarded a woman whose husband died after falling out of an allegedly defective tree stand a landmark $157 million in damages.

The jury handed plaintiff Carol Simonton the whopping damage award on Tuesday in Tippecanoe Superior Court, after deliberating for about an hour and fifteen minutes, according to Mike Phelps
