He could be right, it is voluntary and it's quite possible they've convinced us all to voluntarily pay taxes we don't actually owe. They've slowly changed the perception of the American people as to the true and original meaning of the Fed. tax system. Check this site out:

I've been watching this site for a couple of years, and even though they claim it's bogus, the rev. service continues to give "complete" refunds to those who file in the manner described as long as they do not allow themselves to be bullied...if they don't have a leg to stand on...why do they continue refunding? This is totally different from the protesters over the years who said taxes themselves are not legal, they are just not applicable to all or even most.
