Platinum Equity buys Vivendi marketing units (V) By Anne Stanley

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- Platinum Equity announced Monday that it has acquired Universal Group Direct and DIAL, European club-based marketers of DVD, CD and video game entertainment, from Vivendi Universal (V) . Financial terms were not disclosed. The two businesses serve about 1.5 million active customers and generate annual revenue of approximately 170 million euros, according to a statement from Platinum Equity, based in Berverly Hills, Calif.
