300-up for LiveTV
March 8, 2006 – LIVETV has just completed the 300th installation of its satellite-based inflight entertainment system.
The Florida-based JetBlue subsidiary fitted the landmark aircraft, a Boeing 737-700 operated by AirTran Airways, with equipment to receive XM Satellite Radio on March 3. The 107th AirTran aircraft to be outfitted by LiveTV, the 737 is now equipped to offer passengers more than 100 live XM Satellite Radio channels. The 300-aircraft milestone also means that the number of aircraft equipped with LiveTV has grown by 200 in the last 16 months.
LiveTV also supplies Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Virgin Blue and WestJet, having launched its 36-channel DirecTV-based live television service
JetBlue in 2000 and its XM service on AirTran last year. The company also offers wireless datalink services, digital servers for stored content, and cabin surveillance systems.
