It was in October last year that WOOD hired TSE to ``Provide the Muscle`` to produce his new and improved digEplayer...(see, article below)...

It is interesting how Putnam lays out the basis for any future infringement claim in his highlighted statement...

In the meantime Wencor and digEcor are ceratinly loosing market share to others fast, as it is passing them by. Thales has locked up most of the bigg deals and is rolling ringht over Mr. WENCOR...

``digEcor names new design partner

October 14, 2005 – HANDHELD IFE leader digEcor has chosen Colorado-based Triad Systems Engineering (TSE) to provide the design and production engineering muscle behind its next generation of products.

“Triad will be a key partner in developing the new version of digEplayer and will also play a role in the development of the semi-embedded digEsystem,” says digEcor CEO Brent Wood. “digEcor will continue selling digEplayer for the rest of this year but has accelerated its plans to bring digEsystem to market.”

These words appear to spell the end of the involvement of original industrial partner e.Digital in the digEcor product range. “Intellectual property rights, non-recurring engineering fees, and the size of guaranteed orders were the major issues that precluded us from reaching an agreement on supplying an embedded system,” says e.Digital senior VP Robert Putnam. “While we appreciate notice of digEcor’s latest order [for $750,000-worth of digEplayers to be shipped this quarter], we understand their desire to go their own way to secure their own intellectual property for the digEplayer.”

New partner Triad was set up in 2001 to supply the electronics and computing industries with consultancy services and product development all the way from concept to manufacture.

CEO Fred Nittmann was a programme manager with Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies for ten years, during which time he was awarded three US patents awarded. Engineering VP Mike Kolesar spent 27 years with Hewlett-Packard, where he designed and co-managed the development of the world`s first 32-bit single-chip central processor unit. Another H-P veteran, Fred Rampey, is VP for research and development. At H-P he co-invented the company`s first digital oscilloscope.``
