March 1, 2006 – KOREAN Air has contracted B/E Aerospace to supply MiniPod lie-flat business-class seats and a range of food and beverage preparation and storage equipment for its new Airbus A380s and current and new-buy Boeing 777s. The airline has also selected B/E food and beverage equipment for its A330s.

These new contracts follow on from a retrofit of MiniPod in the airline’s Boeing 747-400s completed last year and bring the total value of B/E’s current business with Korean to $55 million. Deliveries under the new contract are scheduled to begin towards the end of this year.

“Recent programme awards reflect the current robust industry conditions, which are creating a very strong request-for-quotations and bookings environment,” comments B/E chief executive Amin Khoury. “Our investment in new product development, together with the current strong industry conditions, provide the basis for strong bookings and backlog growth throughout this year.”
