Nope, actually quite perfect IMO. Lots of flash devices already out there, and Apple just recently announced they`ve stopped production/selling HHD-based devices (IPODs) and going solely flash (until the next smaller/faster/bigger capacity/lower price storage comes along - five+ years away? And how long till the patents expire?).

I`ve been yacking about this occasionally for 6 years. We`re at an adequate proliferation point or very close. Catch `em at a point of ``dependence``, and your negotiating position is max`d.

I`m stoked with the prospect, assuming there is one. Just as long as any deal with TPL is very favorable (assuming there`s something to the ``Flash Portfolio`` link on the TPL site). This is different than PTSC. EDIG owns the patents without known dispute. So 50/50 won`t cut it. Reasonable cut to employ TPL`s staff of patent attorneys; no out-of-pocket (which has probably been the prohibitive factor). TPL has funding to support their efforts. Efforts could probably be ``combined`` with MPP infringement discussions/contacts in many/most/all cases. That`s how I envision it through my rose-colored glasses.

Still qualifies as ``speculation``, but perhaps not so ``wild`` now.

And I KNOW nuttin`!

Back under my rock....
