January 27, 2006 - LAN Airlines and Thales Avionics have released further details of the South American carrier’s order for TopSeries IFE (Inflight Online, December 29, 2005).

Covering both retrofit and line-fit installations on LAN’s international wide-body fleet, the programme will see the TopSeries i-4000 audio/video-on-demand system added to business class in 18 Boeing 767-300s, with options for a further three 767s and four Airbus A340. Deliveries will start in March 2006 and Thales will also supply a variety of services, including turnkey maintenance and content supply.

Thales’ first South American IFE customer, LAN plans to use i-4000 to give passengers a choice of eight films, 20 shorts, 100 music CDs and 14 video games delivered via 15.4in individual screens.
