If Wencor wanted to get in the IFE business why not by-pass APS and go directly to e.Digital? APS had no exclusivity. It would have been easy for e.Digital to create a new design for Wencor and a whole not cheaper.

Wencor needed content. At that time, EDIG was not the provider (they have since responded and can now offer). It was my understanding that Boyer was the one who went to the studios and APS had the content contract.

My guess is Wencor knew what they bought. They didn`t know how difficult it would be to replace EDIG and they still have not done so as far as I know. Wencor has certainly been EDIG`s financial cash cow and Wencor knows it. However, that little toy Boyer / EDIG created did do the trick. Wencor is a player in the new IFE segment of the airline biz. Before APS, they were not.
