SANDISK CORP. said it has acquired Israeli start-up MDRM, a
developer of technology to distribute secure content through
flash memory cards. SanDisk did not disclose terms of the deal.
MDRM was founded in 2002 and has worked closely with SanDisk to
create a version of SanDisk`s USB flash drive that can deliver
content in a secure environment. The first application of this
technology is BookLocker, which allows students to carry
electronic versions of their textbooks on a device weighing
less than 1 ounce. MDRM has been renamed SanDisk Secure Content
Solutions.
