NO major handheld deals have been announced by anyone lately. Other than the Dreamliner, not much has happened with embedded systems either.
As has been mentioned before, maybe airlines are waiting until the new year? Possibly waiting for Panasonic to show iyt`s wares? Or dropping the idea of IFE altogether?
